ABOUT TOM

Lifelong Greenville Resident. Christian. Husband. Father. Small Business Owner. Outdoorsman. Conservative. Proven Public Servant Committed to Making our Community and State a Better Place for the Next Generation.
Growing up in Greenville, Tom Corbin learned the values of faith, family, hard work, and community throughout his childhood. He learned many of these lessons in one of his favorite places – the family farm in Tigerville where they visited on the weekends.

Like many other boys in his day, 13-year old Tom Corbin wanted to buy a moped. Teaching him the value of hard work, his father Barbee wouldn’t give him the moped – he had to earn the money himself.

Armed with a push-mower and business cards, Tom Corbin built his landscaping business door-to-door and earned enough money to buy the moped. This wasn’t a short lived summer business that ended when he earned the moped, however. With his work ethic and entrepreneurial instincts, Tom expanded his business as he matured into a young man.
As he was building his landscaping career, Tom prayed about what his life would look like. He knew he wanted to live in Tigerville and have a family. In His timing, the Lord led him to marry his wife of 27 years - Leann.

Several years later they moved to Tigerville, and shortly thereafter discovered that they were about to become parents of twin boys. Unexpectedly, William and Elliott arrived three months prematurely and had to fight for their lives in the NICU for three months. Leann left her job as a public school teacher to care for the boys.

The twins fought and struggled to learn what most take for granted – talking, running, and other simple activities. As medical knowledge advanced, they learned that both twins have autism. Through God’s grace, their family’s love, and hard work, William and Elliott have achieved things that some doctors thought were impossible. Both graduated college with honors – William is attending the University of Georgia Law school on full scholarship and Elliott is starting a promising career in the hotel industry.
Raising premature children with autism further strengthened Tom’s conviction of the sanctity of life that comes from his Christian faith. With his faith as his guiding principle, Tom uses his experiences as a family man and a small business owner when serving Northern Greenville and Northwestern Spartanburg counties in the South Carolina State Senate.
While Tom has accomplished many things as a leading conservative voice in Columbia, Columbia has not changed him. He still embodies the values of faith, family and hard work; while voting to shrink government, grow the economy, protect unborn life, and protect our Second Amendment rights.

In addition to being a conservative voice in Columbia, Tom is also an extremely accessible person who is actively helping constituents navigate governmental issues. Most often, he talks individually with constituents on his cell phone (864-834-9915).

Although Tom is a state senator, he is not defined by being a state senator. Tom Corbin is a Christian, a conservative, a family man, a small business owner, an outdoorsman, and a farmer from Tigerville, South Carolina.
